Device Preconfiguration

Devices required for the Energy Management module need to complete three steps through the Neuron Data Platform: access, enabling secondary calculation in the Thing Model, and configuring usage rules. Only then can the system automatically generate time-period usage and carbon emission analysis data.

Step 1: Device Access to the Data Platform

Before using the Energy Management module, please ensure your devices are connected to the Neuron Data Platform. The device data for this module originates from here. For specific operations on device access, please refer to Device Access Process to Neuron Data Platform.

Step 2: Enable Secondary Calculation Configuration in the Thing Model

📗 If the Data Platform is required to automatically calculate the hourly usage of a device (typically meters like electricity meters, water meters, etc.) for the Energy Management module, the "Secondary Calculation" configuration must be enabled in the Thing Model configuration interface for that device. Note: For the same Thing Model, it only needs to be configured once. All devices using this Thing Model will automatically enter the secondary calculation process.

Enter the Neuron Data Platform, click on "Device Twins" in the left menu bar, select "Device Twins List" to enter the Thing Model list. You can find the Thing Model for the corresponding meter device by searching.

On the right side of the required device's Thing Model, click the "Modify" button to enter the Thing Model editing page.

Select the point that needs calculation, click the "Modify" button to enter the configuration page, and turn on the "Calculation" attribute.

• Select "Calc hourly usage": The system will automatically calculate the hourly usage (mainly for electricity meters that only return cumulative readings).
  
• Select "Sync hourly usage": The system will automatically synchronize the hourly usage (mainly for electricity meters that can synchronize usage data).
  

Please select according to the actual situation of the device.

Configure Tags for Points Requiring Calculation

For points that need to participate in calculations in the Energy Management module, corresponding Tags must be configured before the system can perform calculations based on them.

Tags can be selected according to the actual situation of the device.

Step 3: Configure Usage

📗 The core function of configuring secondary calculation for usage is to transform the cumulative data reported by devices like electricity meters and water meters into actual time-period usage (e.g., hourly usage). It also supports splitting a physical master meter into multiple virtual sub-meters for independent calculation based on business rules.

Enter the Neuron Data Platform, click on "System Settings" in the left menu bar, click the "ETL Calculate" button to enter the secondary calculation module, as shown below.

Select the device to configure usage, and click "+" to add a new usage configuration.

1. Calculation Method: Select 'Calculate by Usage'
2. Thing Model: Select the Thing Model of the required device
3. Point: Select the specified point
4. Select Device: Check the devices that require usage calculation
   
5. Submit selection: Submit the selected devices to configure usage calculation for their points
   
6. Submit All: Submit all devices under this Thing Model to configure usage calculation for their points
